Home Preschool: Letters A and B

A friend and I have started a weekly preschool at home, so you can expect a post on that every couple of weeks. I did the first week: A is for Alphabet.

Books: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Animalia, The Sleepy Little Alphabet, From Letter to Letter
Movie: LeapFrog Letter Factory (introduces phonics, since they already know the alphabet)

We made structures using toothpicks and chunks of apple. This also served as our snack.

We did alphabet stamping and practiced writing the letter Aa.

A modified version of our ABC Scavenger Hunt. To make it easier, especially since Daisy didn't know what things we had, Maggie and I gathered something for each of the letters.  The kids took turns picking something and matching it to the correct letter.

The second week, the kids made these cute bees. They ate banana bars and banana smoothies for a snack and went for a nature walk looking for bugs and birds.
